SUFN Chromatic Light
Developed with Dr Luke Ma, principal author of the TM-30 colour fidelity standard; one of the drafters of Performance Requirements for Circadian Luminaires.
Colour is not a matter of taste — it can be measured. TM-30 is the IES colour fidelity system, scoring a light source on gamut, accuracy and colour-vision friendliness. SUFN Chromatic Light was recalibrated with Dr Luke Ma, a principal author of the TM-30 framework, specifically for Asian visual perception: the comfort threshold for warm white differs between Asian and European populations, so a European colour-temperature curve simply does not transfer.
Drafter of a circadian-lighting standard
In 2023 SUFN joined Fudan University, the National Lighting Quality Inspection Centre, Beijing Friendship Hospital and eleven other Chinese and international technical bodies in drafting the execution standard for circadian luminaires. It was an early industry action to write circadian lighting into an executable standard — before that the idea stayed at the level of concept and product naming, with no shared performance requirement.
How it reaches products
Chromatic light is not a product but a calibration method. It sets the colour basis across the range: basic lighting runs on a 3000 K warm white baseline (CRI >95, SDCM ≤2) so mixed lines stay consistent in one room; the eye-care products add the rare-earth photobiological formula on top; and the outdoor range uses the same 3000 K baseline so inside and outside do not separate.
