Technology & patents
Seven invention patents, three software copyrights, 37 utility models and 89 design patents — 136 rights in total. Three core technologies are backed by the Qianhai R&D centre and 22,000 m² of owned manufacturing.
SUFN’s technology assets have three layers: 136 intellectual-property rights, seven of them invention patents; three core technologies spanning healthy light and whole-home intelligence; and an in-house manufacturing system of 22,000 m², a 15,000 m² workshop and 30 production lines.
What the invention patents cover, and the partner patent
| Field | What it protects |
|---|---|
| Embedded luminaire mounting structures | How recessed fixtures are mounted, fixed and serviced in a trackless scheme |
| Combinable magnetic chain lighting | Magnetic and chain luminaire structures that combine freely |
| Smart sensing switches | Circuit and structure of panel sensing, dimming and presence switches |
| Adapting residential light to spatiotemporal behaviour | Methods that adapt residential light to time of day and where people are |
136 rights in total. In lighting, invention patents say more about original work than a raw count: utility models and design patents stop a product being copied, while invention patents protect the method and the structure themselves.

Three core technologies
SUFN monochromatic light
Developed by SUFN’s R&D team with Dr. Luke Ma of the TM-30 colour-science group for Asian visual perception. Ra>95 and SDCM≤2, rising to RA≥98 on the MINI Cube, with measurable targets for sensory comfort, saturation and fidelity.
Rare-earth photobiological axial control
Co-developed with CIK Rare-earth, led by CAS Academician Zhang Hongjie on ten years of rare-earth photobiological research. Deployed in 118 schools from September 2021, follow-up on more than 4,000 students to October 2022 showed a 5.8% myopia incidence growth rate against 8.8% in control classes — three percentage points lower.
The SUFN OS whole-home system
A localised cross-gateway approach: 24 RF channels switching in milliseconds, discovery across routers, self-healing mesh networking, on-device edge computing, 0.01% dimming depth, and support for Matter, HomeKit and other ecosystems.
Optical and electrical baselines
R&D system
AIBAISI smart R&D centre, Qianhai
Founded at the end of 2023, investing tens of millions of renminbi a year in core smart-home protocol research, with more than twenty technology patents — seven of them invention patents — and three software copyrights within three years.
Zhongshan Industrial Design Centre (Yanfeng Smart Lighting Industrial Design Centre)
Designated by the Zhongshan Bureau of Industry and Information Technology in December 2025 and trading as Yanfeng Smart Lighting Industrial Design Centre, it is the company’s official industrial R&D base, covering product definition and original design.
Experience centre and photometry laboratory
An in-house experience centre and photometry laboratory used for photometric testing, spectral validation and real-room demonstration, giving product specifications reproducible backing.
Standards and academic collaboration
A drafting unit of the group standard “Performance Requirements for Circadian Lighting Luminaires” and a contributor to six national standards including GB/T 40230.1-2021, working with Tsinghua, Politecnico di Milano, Soochow, Qingdao University of Technology and Academician Zhang Hongjie’s team.
Manufacturing capability
22,000 m² of plant plus a 120,000 m² smart industrial park
22,000 m² of completed production floor space today, together with a 120,000 m² digital smart industrial park for further capacity and pilot production.
15,000 m² workshop in five bays
The workshop is divided into assembly, electronics, die-casting, injection moulding and coating, with R&D, tooling, machining, assembly and testing all in-house.
30 production lines
Twenty standard assembly lines protect scale efficiency; ten custom lines absorb the low-volume, high-variety demand of designer projects, luxury fit-outs and contract packages.
ERP across the whole chain
An ERP system governs the entire production and supply chain as the company moves towards digital intelligent manufacturing, balancing volume production with flexible customisation for short-lead premium projects.
Production layout
| Workshop | What happens there |
|---|---|
| Assembly | Final assembly, burn-in and packaging. |
| Electronics | Drivers, constant-voltage and constant-current controllers, and smart-module production and tuning. |
| Die-casting | Aluminium die-casting, including the heat-sink structures used in Ruizhi II. |
| Injection moulding | Engineering-plastic parts, brackets, clips and trim rings. |
| Coating | Surface finishing for consistent appearance and weathering resistance. |
